Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) is better known under her real title Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist signed to J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. In October 21st, 2016, she released Pho the debut EP on the Dreamville Records label. The album was released when she gained her first recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading her music via the internet in 2012 as she launched her debut mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. In 2014, she dropped additional music on the internet including Bound. On the 21st of July in 2015, she appeared on Omen's album Elephant Eyes in the song Sweat It Out. J. Cole, who was a part of the Dreamville team at the time would like to see her perform on Rihanna references. On the 8th of December, it was reported that she had signed to Dreamville Records. She was featured on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II which featured the track Backseat alongside Cozz. She released Pho, her debut album on October 21st, 2016. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change and also performed as the opening act for the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018, she opted to perform as a guest artist in two songs featuring her label-mates EarthGang with Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox's debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th July of this year. The first single, Whipped Cream, from the album came out in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a a music video. In November, she released singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. Then on November 13 two new singles titled One and Pedigree. One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released as her first single on the 26th of February in 2019, for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared alongside Cole on her Creed II sound track on November 16. The track was supported by a music video in February 20, 2019, and was viewed by 3 million people on YouTube in one week. She was the opening act for 6LACK as part of their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December, 2018.
